Cytokinesis is primarily concerned with cell division. Cytokinesis is the process in which the cytoplasm of a single eukaryotic cell divides into two daughter cells. This occurs after mitosis, the process of nuclear division that separates the duplicated chromosomes into two identical sets. Together, mitosis and cytokinesis make up the mitotic phase of the cell cycle.
